Happy Mothers Day! Today I’ve spent a lot of time reflecting on my first year as a mother. Motherhood truly is the “longest shortest time”. Growing up I always knew I wanted to have kids and seeing my husband with kids while we were dating made me even more excited for our future family! Now that Everly has joined our family, I can’t imagine her ever not being here. I have learned so much from her… Which to be honest, I wasn’t expecting. I thought it was my job to do the teaching haha! She brings such a light and joy into the lives of everyone she meets. No matter where we go people stop and talk to her and they can’t help but smile!
I hope to raise her to be a strong, confident, and independent woman. That she knows her worth, knows she’s beautiful, and knows she is loved! Being a mother can be quite overwhelming at times when I think of being responsible for another persons life…It really does “take a village to raise a child”. I’ve been so blessed with the greatest examples of the mother I want to be for my children! I am so lucky to be Everlys mama!
These pictures were taken by the amazing Lindsay Connors! She has been there to document some of my biggest mile stones in motherhood and taken photos I will forever cherish. If you are in the Boston area I highly recommend her! Here is her website and Instagram.
“The work of a mother is hard and too often unheralded work. Do the best you can through these years, but whatever else you do, cherish that role that is so uniquely yours and for which heaven itself sends angels to watch over you and your little ones”
